I can't believe they sent another group of personal through the gate... Wish I had got to the gate sooner than what I did. I could have warned them not to come through. Still not sure how I would have got home.. We've tried to dial home but it didn't work. Maybe there is an answer around here on how to get the DHD fixed so we can get back home. I lost the four others that were with me.. One turned on us after being attacked by one of those creatures.. the others were killed by them. I should be dead like them instead I got this broken leg and a bad headache.. I haven't felt like this since the time in the gulf war.. Feel guilty I couldn't save those men..."
Jake thought as he laid there a sleeping bag that was stretched out on the ground. He was sure they had moved him there after he passed out. He reached over and picked up his sniper rifle and stood up slowly, trying to keep the weight of his leg. He limped away from the area they had set up as camp it looked like. He wasn't sure where everyone was but he needed to warn them about the creatures. He was sure they were all gone but one could never know.
He leaned against a tree for a moment, getting his strength back. His whole body ached and his leg hurt the most. His blue gray eyes looking around the area. He could recall seeing Jack come through the gate, thought he seen Daniel too. He wasn't sure who all else where year or who came through the gate after the first team had made it through. He could remember Teal'c and Carter being away from the SGC for a while though. So he knew they wouldn't be here.
It was still afternoon out, they had plenty of time to get the camp set up to handle anything that would come there way during the night. Those creatures came right before day break. He wasn't sure when they would be back but he had a bad feeling in his gut that he couldn't shake. He moved away from the tree and started to walk again, hoping to find O'Neill or whoever else was in charged soon so he could see what he could do and make sure everyone would be safe until they found better shelter.

Daniel walked out of the gate, He looked around, and then continued to walk forward His P-90 strapped around him. Daniel was now, searching the very old structures, studying them to see if he could learn anything from the people who use to live there.
He came across some old carving in a wall and he went in to study it, he placed a hand on the wall, his eye's widened, he recognized the symbols. It was Goa'uld, He then thought to him self. "I thought the Goa'uld were never here....Interesting."
Daniel stood up to look around some more but then seen a camp out in the distance and then seen Jake, Daniel then look over to Jack.
"Jack!" Daniel then ran toward Jake.

Like Daniel that had crossed into the gate before him, Jack made his way out of the gate. The gat closed not too long before he had come out of the gate, with some people and Jackson right there. He came in handy, especially with some of the language barriers that came with this job. But as soon as they crossed the gate, and it closed shortly behind them, Daniel ran over to a building.
The planet was very earthy, and from the trees, he knew that they could survive on the planet. After walking a couple of steps off the gate platform, and walking past the DHD, Daniel shouted out for him, and ran towards a camp. Another SG member was injured, and he knew him by Jake.
"What happened here Donely?" said Jack as he quickly made his way to Jake and Daniel. "Daniel, what did you pick up from those walls?" asked Jack as he quickly turned his head to Daniel, and back to Jake.

Jake glanced up when he seen Dr. Jackson, his blue eyes watching him for a moment before looking around. Jake was always on guard and ready for anything. His P90 and a few of his other weapons were back with the rest of his gear. Unlike the SG units, Jake wore tiger strip camo like the kind worn during Nam. His face still had was covered in face paint, it was his job to blend in with the surroundings and not be noticed. He was good at that and wouldn't be found unless he wanted to be. His clothes were a bit torn up and had spots of the others blood on them. There was a bit of dried blood on his face but blended in with the paint.
He was still a bit dazed and trying to process everything that happened here. "Your stuck here now too and whoever else came with you. Gate's broken or something. Tried to dial home a couple of times, got nothing." He leaned more against his rifle that he was using as a crutch. He glanced between Jack and Daniel when there was talk about the walls. "First part of is Goa'uld but the temples and buildings farther and deeper into the woods, are not. We found a lot of Jaffa armor around here.. really old and rusty." He went on to explain.
"Everyone is dead but me Jack.. Huge creatures attacked us right before day break. Hunter was bitten by one of the creatures then the creature died and the next thing I know. Hunter was speaking to us in another language before trying to kill us. I tried to kill off as many of those creatures as I could.. They were just so big and strong.. I was knocked out from my post by one and had nearly the same thing happen to me as Hunter but I managed to kill the beast.. I buried everyone but there was nothing left of Hunter. After he was killed, his body just turned into this liquid.."
Jake took a deep breath, the whole time he talked he never looked up from the ground. His body was trembling a little and he was raising a fever but he was doing his best to stay strong at the moment. The joys of being in shock..

"Your stuck here now too and whoever else came with you. Gate's broken or something. Tried to dial home a couple of times, got nothing." Jake was saying to both Daniel and Jack
Daniel stood there, his mouth fell, and remained opened till he begun to speak."Uh, That's not good." Danial then heard Jake talking about the Old buildings and the symbols. "Jake, i was able to read some of the symbols on the wall, but it seems there were staff blast and i was unable to make it out from the damage. but it was saying something about the gate was froze in the land time forgot.....what ever that means. Maybe if we can go out and search."
Daniel then left Jack and Jake to there talking while Daniel did what he was best known for. He went back to the wall to see if he could make out any thing else. he kept following the wall and kept reading till he seen something very interesting.
"You guy's, I think you should come and look at this." Daniel was standing at the wall staring at a row of symbols

Jack had heard what Jake had said. They were stuck here, and it did not help that daniel added that it wasn't good. "Well this would be a useful time to have carter around." said Jack as he interpreted jake's story. He had to know what was going on with these beasts, because they only had so much ammo to put up with.
"Damn, there where a lot of great people on SG-2. Thats sad to hear that there's nothing left of him." said Jack as he looked down at the ground and sighed. "What did these beasts look like?" said Jack, hoping that he would have some information on the beasts, and if not, hopefully daniel would. "In the palce you found the jaffa armor, where there any zat guns, or staff weapons?" said Jack as he looked around.
Hearing Daniel that they might want to see something, Jack swung one of jakes arms on him for support instead of the rifle. "What is it Daniel?" said Jack, as he looked on the wall only seeing the goa'uld charachters on the wall. There were strings and strings of them, and jack could not read a single one.
"So what does it say Daniel?" said Jack looking at the wall. He could not read this due to he didn't bother with it. Daniel was more of the linguist then the rest of the team, and if daniel wasn't there, Teal'c could read some of the goa'uld writings on the wall.

"Not sure if she would be any help right now if she was here not.. Richards said something about a series of gates being tied together and some kind of game or something like that.. I don't know, wasn't paying attention to my radio at the time..." He wasn't sure what Richards had found but he took everything he could from them before he laid them to rest. The gear was back at camp along with crates of gear they had come through with them. Everything that would be needed to set up camp here for a year. The higher ups really wanted that weapon to be found but Jake was doubting there was ever a weapon here.
"Real good men. It had been a honor to serve with them for them." Jake had never been assigned to a unit, he was just the tag along when they needed someone with his skills. He was pretty much the only one left from the Special Forces unit. They never got around to training anyone else because of the budget. "The creatures were like a bear, tiger, lion and ram had mated. They had the body size and strength of a bear, ram like horns and strips and a tail like a tiger with a mane. There haven't been anymore around since the attack. I think I killed the last one. But I don't know something about these animals looked like they had been controlled by something.." Jake went on to say. A hand come up to rub at his eyes, his head hurt too much to be thinking about things.
Though he was thankful when Jack moved to give him some better support than what his rifle had given him. "Leg is just sore, twisted my knee on the fall." He said, not wanting them to know it was broken. He knew the last thing at this moment they needed was a injured person. He looked at Daniel before reaching into his pant pockets and pulling out Richard's note book. It wasn't in good shape have taken the brunt force from one of the creatures claws. He limped over close to Daniel and held it out. "Not sure if it would be any help but its what's left of Richard's notes. What do we have here?"

Daniel waited on the others to come up to the wall, once when they were there he begun to talk to them.
"Well according to this, Ra took over this land from Lord Yu a very long long time ago, but then left, but there was a reason, but that part id not readable. But it says to use the chap....i mean Stargate, you must find... and that's it, the rest is gone."
Daniel stood to his feet and then turned around looking at both Jack and Jake, this was maybe the only time that Daniel was ever lost and did not know what to do. He then looked up in the air, took a deep breath waiting for a smart remark from jack.

"So what your saying is, is that the gate isn't working?" said jack as he happened to glance over at their supply cache. They had a years supply, but if someone kept guard at the gate, SGC would probably attempt to have contact. But chances were slim that they would, considering the higher ups, higher then hammond were probably trying to keep things on the down low with senator kinsley and all that.
"But since we have a team here, what we are missing is the weapon everyone is looking for. If we find, or dont find it, we are essentially having a nice long vacation on this paradise." said Jack using his sarcasm.
"Daniel, have we ever come across like that" said Jack repeating what Jake had said from the beasts description. To his memory he does not recall coming across a beast like that, and with the description, he would remember it like a Set jaffa. Passing the notebook to Daniel, jack began to speak again. "Unless if the Goa'uld came in here between you getting ambushed by the beasts this thing was long since destroyed by the goa'uld or someone else." said Jack as he pulled up a nearby chair and sat Jake on it.

"We can get things through the gate but we can dial out to Earth.. Richards had found a set of address in another building here but we never got a chance to see where they go. We had just found out the gate didn't dial back to Earth when the team was trying to escape. I was holding down the rear." He listened to Daniel speak, he wasn't sure what all that meant to them or what was going to happen but he knew that he would do what it took to get back home. A part of him had been missing his family and wanted to be with them. But he pushed those feelings aside and tried to get focused back on the task at hand.
"It could be worse O'Neill. At least its not winter or nothing but sand." He said as he glanced around the area. Listening to Jack explain the creatures, his mind going back to the attack and it was hard for him to push out the bloody images, the screams and cries. He watched the leader of the team die on him. Had stuck beside him trying to keep him alive until he faded away. "Something else did this.. no one came through that gate during the attack.. Armor is old.. The stash of weapons they had in the basement of this building is coated in debris and dust.. Hasn't been touched in years. The edges around the blast areas in this building are smoothed over from time and wear from the weather." Jake said in almost distant voice.
"We don't have much daylight left. Jack why don't you look around the area, set up the primary alarm system. Daniel you stay here and see if you can't find something else out. I'll back up everything we had in camp and move into that building over there. We need something that isn't so open and can give us better protection." He said, giving out orders without even thinking about it.

Jack for a second cocked his eyebrow. He looked at him and said "Ok, Captain, nice suggestion." jack put emphasis on captain, due to the fact that he out ranked him by 2 ranks, and he had to essentially take his order. But when he got home, he would be sure he would get an rank up for the shit that he has to go through. "Well Daniel, Try to see if we can dial to the asguards. If we are going against replicators and goa'uld, P90's and staff weapons wont be enough to stop those bastards." said Jack as paced the room.
"But yea you are right. At least we have something here, and at least its not in the ice age, or the winter season. Hopefully we can get some help here, to either found an actual base. Because if the goa'uld find that we are here, we're dead. They will come in here with more jaffa then...i don't know what." said Jack as tried to think of a witty excuse to think of.
Jack did not know any of the gate addresses because most were held in the computer at the sgc. He knew the address home, and that was about it. That was just in case if another had fallen, and he would not be trapped on that world till they dialed out to him.
"Well after i make Donely's suggestion to setup a perimeter, ill get to going on recon with a couple of troops to find a better base." said Jack as he put on a pair of shades. "How far have you explored from the gate Donely?" said Jack, turning around before he exited. If it wasn't too far, they could easily explore more and find another base.

Jake took a deep breath as he heard the emphasis on his rank and what Jack had to say. Sure he wasn't Air Force and wasn't sure where the rank thing balanced out between the two forces but he had been here the longest. Knew most about this planet and what went on here. Ranks were something he never cared about, the job was more important to him than some title or position. "Look Colonel. He said putting emphasis on the rank just as much as the other man had. "I know more about this place than anyone else does. I know those creatures. If they come back and want another battle with us, then you better follow what I say or else you end up like SG-6. Either six feet under or turning into a pile of goo. He said, all seriousness playing in his voice at the moment.
Sure Jake could be easily to get along with but not when he got pushed around or put in a stop like this. "I seen no bases unless they are underground. There is just a bunch of old buildings and things that have been here for hundred of years if not more. The stuff with dust or debris on it isn't things we have touched yet. There are a few caves around here. Some fresh water supplies but mostly trees and lots of planets. He said, trying to prove his point. He look at Daniel than back at Jack.
"I don't know how much of this good weather we have left. The science guy said the weather was starting to change about a week ago. Been looking like its going to storm for days now. I don't think we are dealing with the Goa'uld here. If we were, I doubt we would be finding their armor and weapons laying around in piles and left behind." He just shook his head and turned away. Starting to limp off when Jack asked about how far he had gone out. "Went about ten miles in each direction during the two months I had been here." He said before he limped off with the help of his rifle. He wanted to get what remained of the camp packed up before nightfall and moved into something he could guard better.

Daniel was hard into his work, like he always is, but something kept Daniel from getting it down, It was that cave Jake was talking about. With nightfall coming soon, Daniel gathered up his stuff and grabbed his p-90 to get ready for the creatures, after all this will be the first night for Daniel.
Daniel sat on a large rock over looking the sunset, the sky turning colors as the sun lowered and the sky became darker, He looked up and watched the Moon, Stars and then back down toward Jack and Jake.
"So When will these creatures come out?"

Jake had spent the time since he left Jack and Daniel getting things moved around and the new camp setting up, along with getting things safe for them. There were some weapons ready to go by the windows which he had used some old barb wire to seal up the best he could. There was a fire going on the fire place along with some cots set up. It had taken some work, a lot of it. He had been eating aspirin like candy, his leg was killing him. He couldn't move at the moment without being in pain, he needed to get things better because he wasn't sure when Jackson and O'Neill were coming back. The last thing he wanted was to be stuck on bed rest.
He had been leaning back against one of the walls, his legs stretched out in front of him. His eyes looked up when he heard Jackson's voice. "They came out at day break, soon as the sun came up. I think we got at least thirteen hours worth of rest to get before there is a chance of them coming back." Jake prayed that they wouldn't come back, he didn't want to see anyone else die.
